Summer 2025 at the Museum
A Summer Full of Creativity and Discovery at the Brick Store Museum
The Brick Store Museum is excited to welcome the community and visitors alike to a vibrant summer season filled with hands-on programs, local art, and engaging history. With offerings for all ages, there’s never been a better time to explore the Museum.
On Tuesday afternoons, families are invited to enjoy Storytime, taking place every Tuesday in July from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Each session includes a read-aloud of a children’s book followed by a themed craft activity. Admission is free during Storytime, making it a perfect summer outing for young families.
Throughout July, the Museum hosts “Wild for Art Wednesdays,” a weekly drop-in workshop for children held every Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. These open studio sessions invite young artists to get creative with new materials and themes each week—no registration needed, just bring your imagination!
Every Friday this summer, the Museum introduces Artist-in-the-Gallery, a special opportunity for visitors to meet and talk with local artists as they showcase their creative processes live in the gallery spaces. This informal and interactive program invites guests to engage with the artistic side of the community in a meaningful way.
In addition to weekly programming, the Museum continues to offer free admission on Second Fridays of each summer month, encouraging everyone to explore what’s inside. As a Blue Star Museum, the Brick Store Museum also offers free admission year-round to active duty, reserve, and veteran military personnel and their families.
Beyond these ongoing programs, visitors can enjoy the interactive “OceanWorld” exhibition, running through the fall, which explores the many ways humans connect with the ocean through science, art, and culture. The Museum is also presenting a special lecture series throughout the summer leading up to its 200th anniversary in October, celebrating two centuries of stories from the Kennebunk region. For those wanting to step outside, guided walking tours of Kennebunk Beach and downtown Kennebunk offer a chance to discover the town’s rich history firsthand.
With so much to see and do, the Brick Store Museum is your go-to destination for a summer of creativity, learning, and connection.
