The Museum’s Concert Partner Mousam River Music Presents:
Kevin Burke, legendary Irish Fiddler! Kevin Burke is, quite simply, one of the most popular and influential Irish fiddlers of our time. He has been a member of many of the top Irish groups of the past 40 years including the Bothy Band, Patrick Street, Open House, and the Celtic Fiddle Festival. He has also worked with a number of stellar duo partners: Jackie Daly, Micheal O Domhnaill, Ged Foley, and Cal Scott–in addition to pursuing an active solo career.
He has garnered prestigious awards in both Ireland and the U.S. He was named a National Heritage Fellow by the National Endowment for the Arts in 2002, and was named Irish Traditional Musician of the year by the Irish language TV channel TG4 in 2916. The New York Times has called him “one of the greatest Celtic fiddlers alive.”
Concert-goers will get a special treat when Boston stepdancer Kieran Jordan joins Burke for a few numbers! Jordan has been dancing since the age of five and has performed and taught locally and internationally for more than 30 years.
Join us in the Museum’s Dane Street Program Center for a great evening of traditional Irish music and dance!
