• Parking

  Because the Museum is at the heart of the historic town center, parking is scattered throughout downtown and sometimes limited. The Museum campus is bounded by Main, Elm, and Dane Streets.

  Free parking is available at the following locations (within walking distance):

  • • Street parking directly in front of the Museum on Main Street
    • Municipal lot to the left of the Museum: pass the Museum and turn onto Elm Street, which is between the Museum and the Town Hall
    • Street parking on Dane Street
    • Along Main Street: additional street parking, parking lots behind the Waterhouse Center (accessed via Grove Street) and 51 Main Street
    • For special events: We partner with Kennebunk Savings, Griffon Security, and others to provide additional parking near the Museum. Parking availability will be noted on the individual event listing on our Calendar.
• Hours of Operation

  The Brick Store Museum is open Tuesday – Friday, 10:00am – 5:00pm; Saturday, 10:00am – 4:00pm; and Sunday, 12:00pm – 4:00pm. We are closed on Mondays. 

  The Museum hosts special programs and events after-hours, which can be found on our Calendar. From June through August, the Museum is open extended hours (5pm – 7pm) for the Downtown Kennebunk Art Walks on the second Friday of each month.

  The Museum is CLOSED for the following holidays:

  • July 4th
  • December 21 through New Year’s Day
• Weather Events

  When significant weather events impact our region, the Museum will announce any closings on our Facebook page and in NewsCenter Maine’s Delays & Closings. Prior to coming to the Museum in winter weather, please check these resources.

• Visiting the Archives

  Please begin by emailing the Museum’s Archives Manager at [email protected] (or call 207-985-4802). Research questions or requests for access should include a brief summary of your question or request. All research visits must be scheduled in advance in order to guarantee staff capacity.

• Accessibility

  The Brick Store Museum is committed to providing an accessible environment for all visitors. 

  The majority of the Museum’s exhibition galleries (five out of seven) are on the first floor and are accessible via entrance ramp at the side of the Brick Store. The two second-floor galleries in the historic Brick Store are currently only accessible by staircase. As we work to improve accessibility to our second story, the Museum offers a Robot Tour of the upstairs galleries which can be accessed on the first floor.

• Renting the Facility

  The Museum makes areas of its facilities available for public use for business or personal events. Please visit our Facility Rental page to learn more.

• Pet Policy

  Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome to visit the Museum alongside a responsible owner, on a limited basis. In order to maintain a comfortable environment for everyone visiting, please check with the Front Desk first to ensure the galleries are prepared for pet visitors.
