SUMMARY:Scandinavian History in Kennebunk (Virtual Gathering)
DESCRIPTION:Norwegians and Swedes emigrated to the United States for centuries. At the end of the 19th century\, Kennebunk welcomed large populations (comparatively) of peoples from Scandinavia as a result of the downtown Kennebunk mills seeking workers. Join us for an exploration of local Scandinavian history with Town Historian Kathy Ostrander Roberts\, to learn more! This is a free\, virtual lecture. \nDonations made to the Brick Store Museum during the Candlelight Stroll: A Festival of Traditions programming (including this) will support the Brick Store Museum’s educational mission with a portion of proceeds donated to support other cultural organizations in southern Maine (see our full Festival of Traditions page for full details!). \nSubmit your name and email address BELOW to register for the Zoom link. Link will be sent one day prior to the lecture. Please be sure to check your spam filter – Museum emails often end up there! Questions? Email info@brickstoremuseum.org \nDonations welcomed HERE>>

SUMMARY:All Souls' Walk & Fall Fair
DESCRIPTION:EVENT UPDATE: \nThe Museum grieves with our entire state as we all interpret the senseless violence in Lewiston. The coming days and weeks will be a time to explore actions we might take as a community to heal and help. \nMany folks have called asking if the Museum’s All Souls’ Walk is still on for tomorrow. YES\, it is still running! We have consulted with our volunteers and staff\, as well as the Kennebunk Police Department\, and feel comfortable running the program with additional safety measures in place\, including increased presence in the cemetery. We look forward to sharing stories with you. \nWe understand that some who have purchased tickets may not feel ready to attend. Please call us at (207)985-4802 to receive a refund for your tickets\, no questions asked. \n  \n+++ \n  \nThe Brick Store Museum’s All Souls’ Walk began its annual Hallowmas season tradition in 2004\, with a guided walk through neighboring Hope Cemetery. This year\, we celebrate the program’s 20th year running! \nThe All Souls’ Walk invites participants into Hope Cemetery & Woods\, led by a knowledgeable tour guide\, to “meet” the ghosts of Kennebunk’s past and learn about the lives of residents that came before us. \nStories and experiences range from funny\, to sad\, to passionate\, to mystifying. Not too spooky\, it’s the perfect Halloween activity for the whole family. Must pre-register in advance for the tour. The tour lasts about 75 minutes\, and covers roughly a 1/2 mile through the cemetery. \n  \nCelebrate with us! \nGet your All Souls’ 20th Anniversary celebration t-shirts\, totes and magnets HERE! \nPre-Order the new All Souls’ Walk 20th Anniversary Companion Book\, to be released on All Souls’ Day\, HERE! \n  \n+ \nTICKETS: \nPre-sale tickets have ended. There are roughly 30 walk-in tickets available as of Saturday morning at 10am. Please CALL the Museum at 207-985-4802 to check on availability of tickets on October 28. \n  \n+ \nThis event features the All Souls’ Fall Fair! \nAs participants are waiting to depart on their tours and return to the Museum afterward\, there is an opportunity for local artisans to exhibit and sell their works in an Autumn-themed fair! Email us at info@brickstoremuseum.org to register\, or print the application form HERE>
