SUMMARY:Liz Knowles and Kieran O’Hare | Concerts in West K with Mousam River Music
DESCRIPTION:The Museum’s Concert Partner Mousam River Music Presents: \nThose who were fortunate enough to attend Liz Knowles’ solo concert in November\, 2024\, in which piper Kieran O’Hare joined her for a few numbers at the end of the show\, know the quality of music they can expect to hear! Both Liz and Kieran are among the very best Irish musicians in the world today. \nKnowles builds on her early foundation in classical music with a deep love for\, and understanding of\, Irish music. The result is a distinctive sound that combines the fire and finesse of traditional fiddling with the power and tonal richness of classical violin. \nO’Hare is a highly respected and sought-after performer\, and teacher of traditional Irish music on the uilleann pipes\, concert flute\, and tin whistle. He was educated at Trinity College in Dublin\, Ireland\, where he continued the process of learning the tradition of uilleann piping from master pipers. \nTogether Liz and Kieran have collaborated on many projects to compose\, arrange\, and perform music for large-scale European-based productions integrating traditional and contemporary Irish music with dance and song. In addition to their solo and duo projects they perform in the trio Open the Door for three along with Dublin-born bouzouki player and singer Pat Broaders. \nWe are privileged to welcome them back to the “Concerts in West K!” series! \nThe Brick Store Museum is located at 117 Main Street\, Kennebunk\, adjacent to the Kennebunk Town Hall. The “Concerts in West K!” series is produced by Mousam River Music in association with the Museum. \n+++ \nTickets: $25 per person \nPre-purchase online by Saturday\, June 13! After that time\, tickets will be available for purchase at the door. Questions or want to reserve unpaid seats? Email: paul.wells@mousamrivermusic.net

Along the way\, imagine what daily life was like when the sounds of hammering and sawing filled the air\, and learn how abundant forests\, local sawmills\, and access to waterways fueled the industry. \nDiscover how shipyards supported the community while connecting it to global trade\, and how this era left a lasting mark on the town\, from its economy to the beautiful homes of merchants and shipmasters that still line Summer Street today. \nThis tour is offered in partnership with Ride Maine\, whose support helps make this experience possible. \nGroup size: 8–12 participants (minimum of 8 required to run)
