SUMMARY:Irish Trio Fόdhla | Concerts in West K with Mousam River Music
DESCRIPTION: Sunday’s concert by Fodhla is on\, but we are keeping a close eye on the weather! \nThe Museum’s Concert Partner Mousam River Music Presents: \nThe popular Irish trio Fόdhla (FO-lah) kicks off the 2026 season of the long-running “Concerts in West K!” series. The concert will take place Sunday\, February 1\, from 3:00-5:00 pm\, in the Dane Street Program Center of the Brick Store Museum. \nBethany Waickman (guitar)\, Ellery Klein (fiddle)\, and Nicole Rabata (flute)\, are highly-respected members of the broad Boston-Portland acoustic music community. They are no strangers to Kennebunk concert-goers; Fόdhla was one of the first groups to appear in the series when it began in 2015. \nThe ensemble brings high energy and stellar artistry to their performances. Their sound is firmly rooted in the traditional Irish melodies and ornamentation that fiddler Ellery Klein and flute player Nicole Rabata honed during years spent abroad in Ireland’s cities Cork\, Limerick\, and Ennis. Guitarist Bethany Waickman provides superb support to the fiddle and flute tunes. Her inventive\, tasteful harmonies and driving rhythm have been perfected through years of playing for contradances. \nThe Brick Store Museum is located at 117 Main Street\, Kennebunk\, adjacent to the Kennebunk Town Hall. The “Concerts in West K!” series is produced by Mousam River Music in association with the Museum. \n+++ \nTickets: $25 per person \nPre-purchase online by Saturday\, January 31! Both Liz and Kieran are among the very best Irish musicians in the world today. \nKnowles builds on her early foundation in classical music with a deep love for\, and understanding of\, Irish music. The result is a distinctive sound that combines the fire and finesse of traditional fiddling with the power and tonal richness of classical violin. \nO’Hare is a highly respected and sought-after performer\, and teacher of traditional Irish music on the uilleann pipes\, concert flute\, and tin whistle. He was educated at Trinity College in Dublin\, Ireland\, where he continued the process of learning the tradition of uilleann piping from master pipers. \nTogether Liz and Kieran have collaborated on many projects to compose\, arrange\, and perform music for large-scale European-based productions integrating traditional and contemporary Irish music with dance and song. In addition to their solo and duo projects they perform in the trio Open the Door for three along with Dublin-born bouzouki player and singer Pat Broaders. \nWe are privileged to welcome them back to the “Concerts in West K!” series! \nThe Brick Store Museum is located at 117 Main Street\, Kennebunk\, adjacent to the Kennebunk Town Hall. The “Concerts in West K!” series is produced by Mousam River Music in association with the Museum. \n+++ \nTickets: $25 per person \nPre-purchase online by Saturday\, June 13!
