DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Independence Day at the Brick Store Museum with a Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence \nJoin the Brick Store Museum and the Kennebunk Rotary Club on Friday\, July 4\, 2025\, at 12:00 p.m. for a community celebration of our nation’s founding with a public reading of the Declaration of Independence. The event takes place on the Museum’s campus at 117 Main Street in Kennebunk and is free to all. \nThis 45-minute patriotic program brings history to life as community leaders and Rotarians read aloud the document that declared the United States’ independence in 1776. The program will also explore how the phrase “all men are created equal” has evolved over time\, highlighting key moments and landmark movements—such as the Gettysburg Address—that have expanded the promise of equality throughout American history. \nThe reading will be presented by: \n\nEarle J. Patterson\, Kennebunk Rotarian and member of the Brick Store Museum\nDavid Moravick\, Kennebunk Rotarian and President of the Museum’s Board of Trustees\n\nThis event offers a moment of reflection and celebration for all ages\, honoring the enduring ideals of freedom\, democracy\, and social progress.
