SUMMARY:Taste of Traditions!
DESCRIPTION:The Festival of Traditions features a pop-up exhibition\, a Smartphone holiday history tour\, and a “Taste of Traditions!” event on Saturday\, December 14 from 10am – 2pm. \nThe “Taste of Traditions!” event will feature a cookie tasting from desserts around the world associated with historic Kennebunk people who immigrated from varied parts of the world in the early 20th century. During the event\, Paul & Sally Wells will play Christmas fiddle tunes and local immigrant stories will be told. The event is free to Members and $5 per person (free under age 12).  \nThe Festival of Traditions exhibit will be on display through December 21\, joining the new exhibition “Timeless Play: A Century of Holiday Toys” and the upcoming 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Display\, on view December 17 – 21. There is plenty to explore at the Museum this holiday season!

DESCRIPTION:THIS CONCERT IS SOLD OUT! \nA concert on April 17 featuring the Pine Tree Flyers and NEA National Heritage Fellows Don & Cindy Roy will showcase the rich\, living traditions of Maine fiddling. \nThe Flyers are a relatively new quartet of well-seasoned musicians who put a fresh\, contemporary spin on traditional New England dance music. The group recently released its first CD. Don & Cindy Roy have long been the leading exponents of Maine’s Franco-American musical heritage. Don’s virtuoso fiddling and Cindy’s steady\, rhythmic piano accompaniment\, plus her top-notch step-dancing\, have delighted audiences at festivals and concerts nationwide. \nPlease purchase tickets in ADVANCE. DESCRIPTION:ONE WEEK ONLY!\nAbout the Exhibition: \nJoin the Brick Store Museum from December 19 through December 22 – four days only! – for an incredible treat: The Gingerbread House Exhibition! \n \nFamilies\, individuals (all ages!)\, and businesses are invited to share their works of gingerbread art with the community for the week before Christmas. All gingerbread houses will go on display on Tuesday\, December 19 at 12pm through Friday\, December 22 at 5pm. \nGingerbread houses can be simple\, fancy\, realistic or whimsical. Have fun with creativity\, architecture\, and design! \nThe community is invited to the Museum’s Festival of Traditions throughout the month of December; and especially during the week of December 19 through 22 to view the gingerbread houses made by community members. \nVote! \nVisitors will receive voting ballots to select their favorite creations; and the Museum will welcome guest judges to review the entries and award prizes. DESCRIPTION:A public artists’ reception for this exhibition will occur on Saturday\, July 22 from 12:00pm – 1:30pm. Free and open to all! \nEarthly Observations: Artist Perspectives on Climate opens in the Patsy Bauman Gallery on July 14\, 2023\, and runs through September 3rd. \nThis multi-artist show displays 2D and 3D artworks that illustrate our changing climate and artists’ responses to these challenging world issues. Climate changes over time have sped up against the Earth’s natural timeline due to human overuse\, and those living in Maine and other coastal areas have a front row seat to see those changes during their lifetimes. \nArtwork is shown inside the gallery and outside in the Museum’s center courtyard. \nArtists in the show include: \nCole Caswell \nKate Cheney Chappell \nAnna Dibble \nElizabeth Kelley \nAndrea Kimmich Keyser \nRhonda Smith \n  \n…plus a community art project “Community Clothesline” \n  \n
