Volunteers are vital to the Brick Store Museum's year-round operations. Each year, more than 100 different volunteers of all ages give generously of their time and talents in support of the museum's mission. Their skills, perspectives, and life experiences enrich our activities. In return, volunteers enjoy the camaraderie and sense of accomplishment that come from lending a hand. While some volunteers maintain a regular schedule each week to work on ongoing projects, others prefer helping out as needed with specific events or activities. Volunteer opportunities typically exist in the following arenas:
- Museum gallery docent and guide for special group tours
- Visitor services
- Tour guide for the seasonal walking tours of Kennebunk's historic district
- Office support and mailings
- Publicity and distribution of museum brochures and event posters
- Collections cataloguing and data entry
- Archival support
- Special event planning and staffing
- Educational programs and school group tours
- Gardening
- Gallery preparation
