Weeping veils, intricate hair wreaths, funerary paintings and lockets from the museum's permanent collections helped illustrate traditional mourning customs of the 1800s. Visitors saw a full mourning dress, an extraordinary letter linked to one of the most shocking and tragic moments in American history, and much more.
