Based upon the eponymous 2009 book by the Museum's archivist, Rosalind Magnuson, this exhibition explores the development of Kennebunk's schools from the earliest one-room facilities to the robust district they comprise today. Highlights of the exhibition include numerous vintage photographs, a schoolgirl's sampler, the original 1855 sign that hung at the Lower Alewive schoolhouse, and a replica turn-of-the-century classroom.
Exhibition made possible by our proud business partner: Cape Arundel Inn.
