Godey's Lady's Book, which inspired this exhibition's title, was one of the most popular ladies' books of the 19th century. Each issue contained poetry, beautiful engravings and articles of interest to the women of that time.

Thirty mannequins were dressed in period costumes to evoke scenes from Godey's Ladies. Costumes were from the Brick Store Museum and on loan from other Maine museum collections.
