| Thomas Badger: Portrait of an American Painter June - November 1993 |
|
This retrospective of portraits from northern New England featured the work of prominent 19th-century American artist, Thomas Badger (1792-1868). Badger, an itinerant painter from Boston, was born in 1792 and worked almost until his death in 1868. Paintings in the exhibition spanned the years from 1810 until 1868 and represent the lifestyles and cultures of prominent Maine citizens. A softcover catalog published by the Museum accompanied the exhibition and is available through the Museum shop.
