KENNEBUNK, MAINE – The Brick Store Museum, like many museums and historical societies, rely on collectors to help preserve the past. In appreciation of our local collectors, the museum is offering two special events coming up in July.
The first event will be on Thursday, July 23rd , The Brick Store Museum, along with McInnis Auctioneers, will be offering a special auction preview at Barnard’s Tavern from 5-7pm. The first floor of the house and selected objects from the estate of Bill Johnson will be on view outside. Enjoy a sneak peek along with appetizers and music! Tickets are $10 per person or $5 for members.
On Saturday July 25th, The Brick Store Museum will be hosting an Antique Appraisal Day from 10am-2pm in the Program Center located behind the museum, accessed through the Victory Garden courtyard. This is an informal and friendly event to learn the value of treasured art, jewelry, furniture and decorative objects.
Local antique appraiser Hap Moore, from Hap Moore Antique Auctions in York and Lee Horowitz of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, will be on hand to verbally appraise collectibles, antiques, paintings, and decorative arts. Appraisals will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
There will be a fee of $10 charged for each appraised item with a maximum of three objects being appraised per person.
Proceeds for both events benefit the Brick Store Museum and its mission to ignite personal connections to local history, art and culture through exhibitions, education and programs celebrating the human experience in the Kennebunks and its surrounding communities.
