Liam P. B. Crotty is an accomplished American portrait photographer known for his ability to instantly connect with his subjects. Crotty grew up in Kennebunkport and at age nine purchased his first camera—a 110-format, plastic point-and-shoot from the Kennebunk 5 & 10 on Main Street. A 1986 Kennebunk High School graduate, Crotty went on to attend Yale University, where he served as photo editor of the oldest college yearbook in the United States and as a photographer for the Yale Daily News. Continuing his passion professionally, he has photographed many prominent individuals, including Paul Newman, Jesse Jackson, Liz Claiborne, and Maine humorist Tim Sample. Though portrait photography remains Crotty’s first love, he also brings his camera along on his adventure travels and has photographed the jungles of Costa Rica, numerous alpine peaks, and underwater life in the Bay of California. Crotty maintains a professional studio in Kennebunk.
