Steampunk often features anachronistic technologies or “retro-futuristic” inventions as people in the 19th century might have envisioned them. The era’s perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, invention and art all play into the visual culture of Steampunk. Technology may include fictional machines like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne.
At the Southern Maine Steampunk Fair, we’re bringing new excitements this year!
You will find a Steampunk Tea Service (tickets now on sale – click here!); Victorian culture lectures; how-to’s and craft demonstrations; free face-painting and Maker Station; vendors of Victorian-futuristic art and crafts; take part in Victorian lawn games; meet and greet Steampunk authors Joy Reed and Leanna Renee Hieber; and so much more. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged and celebrated!
Snacks for sale, with a visit by the Maxim’s Desserts foodtruck!
