Open a new door this holiday season!

You’re invited to walk through our new front entrance to celebrate the holidays with us on Friday, December 14th, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
We’ve got a lot to celebrate this year: our renovations are complete! Help us ring in the new museum spaces with food, drink and merriment abound. This is an open-house style event that is free to attend. RSVP is encouraged! Bring your friends, family, neighbors and colleagues.

For one night only, the Museum will be lit up with thousands of sparkling lights! Toast a glass of champagne (or other beverage of your choice!) as you explore the galleries, discover our Season of Giving Arts Sale, and celebrate with your friends and neighbors. We’re looking forward to showing you the work being done, and announce next year’s exciting plans, too!

RSVP is encouraged (how much food should we get?). Please contact Caroline Brown at [email protected] or  (207)985-4802.

Question: What happened to the Tea? When is it?

While the community and the Museum mutually enjoyed the tradition of tea in a historic home every year, the realities of homeownership in our area is that many homes on Summer Street are not inhabited in the winter months. In order to remain sustainable and vital to our community, we had to change with the changing times. We’re very excited that next year, we’re turning the Holiday Tea into a summer event – so it’s not gone, just at a different time of year that’s more viable and lively.

Why couldn’t you just repeat homes?

As an active community institution, we don’t think repeating the same thing over again just to sell tickets is a way forward. The change to a summer tea will reach new houses, more people, and we don’t have to worry about winter weather!

But! We’re having a really fun event that’s open to the whole community on Friday, December 14th from 3pm – 7pm. We’ve been renovating our first building for months, and now it’s finished and ready for everyone to actually walk through our front door! It’s a free open house to celebrate our grand re-opening. We hope you can come, and bring family and friends.
