October 2017 marked the 70th Anniversary of the Fire of ’47, a large wildfire that burned much of the state (from Kennebunkport to Bar Harbor) in 1947. On Thursday, February 8th at 3:00pm, the Brick Store Museum presents Town Historian Stephen P. Spofford’s presentation on the history of the “Week Maine Burned” at the Park Street School, open to the public (however, space is limited).
Alongside the lecture will be archival photos of the fire, home film reels, and personal recounts of the events from local citizens.
This presentation is free.
