Design and Function is an exhibition displaying the Museum’s permanent collection of American fine and decorative arts. It focuses on the beauty, design, and function of pieces from the 17th through mid-19th centuries. Featured is a 17th century Capen-Perkins chest, newly restored pieces of furniture, American portraiture and painting, as well as biographical information of the portrait sitters, many of whom were prominent 19th century Kennebunkers.
