Severe delamination and paint loss

After consolidation, the lifted and curling paint was set to the glass by flowing in the Acryloid B-72 solution and allowing it to sit. It was then pressed flat into place with a small Teflon tool. In areas where the paint was entirely gone, Webber inpainted with dry pigments, working from the reverse with a very tiny brush. While all of the work was highly detailed, it was easier to retouch the sky than it was to do areas with the rigging and other fine lines.
