This small bell with a wooden handle was used by Estelle Knowles Wentworth (1848-1903) from approximately 1875 through 1885. Wentworth was a Kennebunk school teacher who had also previously taught in Massachusetts. The bell, given to the museum by Wentworth's granddaughter, is on view in the Brick Store Museum's 2010 exhibition, Learning is an Ornament about the history of Kennebunk's schools. # # # |
