This is one of more than 1,200 postcards in the Brick Store Museum's permanent collections. All the major types of postcards--from the undivided back era to the photochrome era--are represented. The majority of the cards depicts landmarks, scenery, and municipal structures throughout the Kennebunks. While most in the collection were never posted, several bear the handwritten messages and postage of their senders, making them of added sociocultural and philatelic interest.

The card shown above is from the linen era of postcard production (circa 1930 to 1950). "Linen" postcards were printed on paper with high rag content, thus imparting the look and feel of fabric to the printed image. Linen cards are also characterized by their vivid colors and remain popular with collectors.

The Museum digitized its existing postcard collection in 2008-2009.
