This collage depicts a floral design with a combination of mica and paints on a painted artist board. Colors are black and taupe mica and oils in reds and blues on a white background.

About the artist
Mildred Burrage was born in Portland, Maine. Known as a prolific Maine artist and preservationist, she lived in Kennebunkport for a brief period in the mid 1940s. Her works appear in several public collections. In 1954, she established the Lincoln County Historical Association, and she founded the Maine Art Gallery in Wiscassett in 1957 specifically for artists living and working in Maine.
