Brick Store Museum Happenings

Exploring the Wonder of History May 2007
Museum collage blockHello! We've been so busy that the month of May has nearly gotten away from us here at the Museum. You've seen the scaffolding on our Main Street facade, so you know for a fact that there are all sorts of things happening on the OUTSIDE.  And if you follow the signs to our entrance, you'll find that a lot is going on INSIDE, too!  We're gearing up to open not one but three new exhibitions before the end of August, and you're sure to love them all.  Stay tuned for opening dates and accompanying programming, but if you want a sneak peek, click HERE!

Sincerely,
The Brick Store Museum

The Brick Store Museum exists because one person--Edith Cleaves Barry--in 1936 recognized the importance of preserving the history of the area. Utilizing the building she inherited through her great grandfather, she founded The Brick Store Museum with a mission to collect, preserve, interpret and exhibit the cultural and artistic heritage of the Kennebunks for residents, visitors and future generations.

Did You Know...

...that May is National Preservation Month?

...that the Brick Store Museum has hosted an annual bridge marathon for more than 30 years?  This diverse group of bridge players has three things in common: a love for meeting new people, supporting the Museum, and playing bridge! Games are held eight times from September to the following May, culminating with an awards luncheon. Signups for the 2007-2008 season begin later this summer, but if you want to be a newcomer to the card-playing action, give us a call at 207.985.4802.  Congratulations to this year's marathon-winning team of Debby Pearse and Bruce Donath.
